I’ve been working on a new project. A study of a pump-jack and the surrounding area.
I started shooting macro and quickly realized I need a better tripod. So, I bought a Manfrotto with a geared head and a set of macro rails. I’m really excited to do some hyper-depth-of-field stuff.
Aside from shooting a lot of details, I want to shoot some star trails and a lot of abstract shapes and patterns. I also want to show a lot of the natural surroundings and attempt to remove the sense of man.

Overall, it’s a relief to start working on something personal again. I’ve been doing a lot of work for other people and honestly, it doesn’t excite me. I didn’t buy a camera to become a slave, my camera is my freedom.
