Recently returned from a trip to The Enchanted Tower near Datil, New Mexico. Awesome!
The Tower is the most inspiring feature I’ve come across in my extremely short climbing history (Diablo Canyon ties with Hueco for second place).
I imagine it would be impossible to find a climber who is not awestruck by the classic beast that is Goliath; the proudly hanging route that crawls up the edge of the massive 110 foot tower of stone.
I had a great time climbing with my friends. I didn’t red point anything, but I did manage to take a massive whipper from the top of Cheshire Cat.
Oh yeah, I also checked out The Tunnel near Alamogordo. That place is wicked with a climbing style I am completely unfamiliar with… I can’t wait to go back!
