LAP - Salt by Murray Fredericks

This weekend hosted several gallery openings for Fraction of a Second. There were several wonderful photos on display, but what caught my attention was the documentary Salt playing at the UNM art museum.

I remember when the trailer for this doc was released several years ago; I was just getting into photography and I fell in love with these images by Murray Fredericks. I don't have much to say about the images. I think they are perfect. The film at the museum showed several of the images on a large wall with beautiful music. It was moving. It was inspiring. I wish I had the time to watch the entire film.

There are some large salt lakes in New Mexico that I have attempted to visit. They are an island of public land surrounded by private property. I think I'm going to have to attempt to get in touch with the land owners and make my own photos soon.
